Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions

"Boycott, disinvestments and sanctions", abbreviated BDS is a transnational political campaign that seeks to isolate the State of Israel economically, culturally and politically in order to implement the goals it adopted in 2005: Israel must end the "occupation and colonization of all Arab land", recognize the "fundamental right of its Arab-Palestinian citizens to full equality" and "protect and promote the right of Palestinian refugees to return to their homes and property in accordance with UN Resolution 194.

171 Palestinian organizations signed this appeal; many solidarity groups and celebrities support it. Leading BDS representatives openly deny Israel's right to exist and want to abolish this state.

Anti-Semitism research classifies the goals of the campaign as anti-Zionist (directed against a Jewish state), and in many cases also as anti-Semitic. In May 2019, the German Bundestag condemned calls for a boycott against Israel and rated BDS as anti-Semitic.
